Volunteering at St Ives Community Orchard

Volunteering at St Ives Community Orchard is a great way to improve your strength and fitness. It's also a beautiful and tranquil place to enjoy the natural world and meet new people. No experience is needed and you can work at your own pace. All skills and general help are much appreciated. They always have time for a tea break and a chat. New volunteers are always welcome (there's no membership fee). There are work parties on many Thursdays between 4pm and 6pm. Check the day before by texting 07585777110 to find out if it's on.

The work includes - planting trees and bushes, clearing brambles and bracken, protecting and nurturing the trees, maintaining grassy areas and helping organise and run community events. They provide the tools, gloves and biscuits /fruit and show you what's needed doing.

Families with children are welcome. The orchard is right next to a playpark and skatepark so when the kids have had enough in the orchard, there is plenty for them to do.
