Bread & Baking

Bosparva Bakery

The Bosparva Bakery was created by Jordan Jones in 2013 at the age of 18. After a childhood of baking heavy cakes and butterfly buns with her Granny in Cornwall it was time for her to follow her dream of becoming a baker. With only one oven in a small home kitchen she began making bread and cakes for small local markets and shops. Jordan's main aim when opening the bakery was to produce a wide range of organic breads that everyone could love for every occasion. With this in mind she's created signature loaves like her 'Earl Grey Tea and Apricot' loaf or 'Carrot and fresh Coriander,' both of which fly out at food festivals and markets. Two years she was running a purpose built bakery making over 50 types of sweet and savory breads and a wide range of cakes and delicate french macarons. She attends Farmers' Market every week in Penzance, St Ives and Pendeen.

McFaddens Butchers and Bakers

The Mcfadden family are proud farmers and have been farming their own 42 acres of land since the family business was established. This has always enabled them to rear their own pigs and sheep in order to supply their shop and bakery with guaranteed quality local Cornish produce. They provide complete traceability of all livestock from birth to the butcher’s block. They lamb their sheep between October and March and this enables them to have a steady supply of the very best quality lamb throughout the year. They also keep a constant supply of healthy pigs which are traditionally fattened and used for their own shop and Mcfadden’s products. Master butcher and owner Kevin Mcfadden will only purchase the finest quality beef from Truro livestock market every Wednesday. Kevin takes great care in selecting local produce and always ensures that meat is sourced from a high standard of breeding, therefore guaranteeing they have complete traceability for their beef.
